Recruitment software specialist secures contract in Gulf

Mindmill, whose software is used for selection, training and recruitment, has secured the three-year project in Qatar with Oryx HR, a recruitment firm based in Doha.

The company is part of Oryx Engineering, one of Qatar's leading businesses involved in the natural gas industry.

MindMill, which employs a team of software developers and psychologists, has developed its testing solutions in a range of languages to accommodate Oryx's focus on recruiting staff from India, the Philippines and Sri Lanka.

The deal followed the participation of company managing director Laing Mewhort in an Invest NI mission to Qatar, United Arab Emirates and Oman in April.

Mr Mewhort said that the contract was "an immensely important breakthrough in one of the Gulf's major markets".

"We secured the business due to the innovative features of our assessment software, its flexibility, ease of administration and accessibility over the internet," he said.

Dr Vicky Kell, Invest NI's trade director, welcomed MindMill's success.

"This is a significant achievement that positions the business for fast growth throughout the Gulf region," she said.
