Research firm to hire 10 extra staff
A medical research company is taking on 10 new staff as part of a bid to grow into new markets.
Axis Bioservices in Coleraine carries out pre-clinical research in oncology, inflammation and respiratory diseases.
Now it's worked with economic development agency to carry out trade development visits, train its workforce and recruit new staff.
Business director Catherine Maguire said: "Our aim is to establish Axis as a core provider of preclinical services to a wide range of customers including the pharmaceutical industry, small biotech companies and university research facilities."
It plans to recruit 10 new posts, including scientists and administrators. It's recently taken on a facility manager and client services manager.
Invest NI director Jeremy Fitch said life and health sciences was a key sector for the Northern Ireland economy.
