Ryanair adding new direct route from Belfast to Malta
Ryanair is growing its Belfast air network and adding a new direct flight to Malta.
The low-cost airline announced its return to Belfast just last year. It now flies from Belfast International to locations including Gatwick, Malaga, Berlin and Milan.
The new link will bring Ryanair's routes from Belfast International to 13.
During a visit to Belfast in September, Ryanair boss Michael O'Leary said the scrapping of APD would be "huge" and could double the number of passengers flying in to Belfast through Ryanair.
Mr O'Leary said if the Executive had removed the £13 a flight duty, Ryanair would not have cut its City of Derry to Stansted flights.
He says the low cost airline would have added a fourth plane to Belfast if the UK hadn't voted for Brexit.
