Ryanair announces new flights to Portugal

Ryanair has announced a new twice weekly route from Derry to Portuguese sun spot Faro.

The service runs from April next year and is the low-cost airline's second international route from the north west.

Spokeswoman Laura McCormack said: "With a total of seven low fare routes from Derry including Glasgow Prestwick, Liverpool, London Luton, London Stansted, Birmingham, Alicante and now Faro consumers and visitors can beat the recession by choosing Ryanair's lowest fares and our no fuel surcharge guarantee."

In September last year Ryanair said it was axing its Derry to Bristol flight.
