Footwear firm Ecco has opened a new store at Victoria Square shopping centre in Belfast.

The firm says it has created 10 new jobs, after moving from its former location on Castle Lane to its new site.

The specialist shoe retailer has taken a 1,500 sq ft unit on the lower ground floor of the centre.

It's the latest acquisition by Ecco as it tries to increase its high street reach across Ireland as part of a £1m investment.

In April, Life Style Sports also opened up at Victoria Square, creating around 20 new jobs.

It currently has four outlets in Northern Ireland, including one at CastleCourt shopping centre in Belfast.

Its other stores are at Rushmere in Craigavon, the Richmond Centre in Londonderry and Erneside in Enniskillen.

And Specsavers is also set to open in Victoria Square later this month, moving from its current Ann Street site.
