Sir Alan Sugar-coats life in the boardroom

Business and showbusiness don't always work well together, but when they do, it can be a marriage made in heaven.

The Apprentice attests to the electric viewing experience which can ensue when the business and showbusiness recipe is perfected. The artist formerly known as Sir Alan, now Lord Sugar, is as pugnacious and no-nonsense as ever.

This week boardroom recriminations were flung back and forth after the all-women Apollo team's project manager turned down an exclusivity deal with a major high street chemist for a beach accessory. Their fiery boardroom exchanges made uncomfortable but rivetting viewing.

However, they were certainly more 'show' than 'business' - which is certainly why we keep tuning in as the reality of boardroom life does not usually make prime-time entertainment.
