SSE Airtricity buys into Northern Ireland heating firm
SSE Airtricity - Northern Ireland's second biggest electricity supplier - has acquired 50% of a heating contractor in the province for an undisclosed sum.
Fusion Heating is based in Castlereagh and employs nearly 70 people, including gas engineers, plumbers, electricians and joiners.
It has worked with SSE Airtricity since 2013 on the servicing of gas and oil boilers.
As well as supplying electricity, SSE Airtricity is the biggest supplier of natural gas here.
Fusion installs, services and repair gas and oil central heating boilers and systems.
It also offers domestic electrical contracting services, and also carries out the supply and fit-out of bathrooms.
Fusion Heating managing director Bill Cherry said the move had opened up growth opportunities.
