Takeaways industry feeds £390m into Ulster's economy
The takeaway industry in Northern Ireland is worth £390m to the economy, according to research commissioned by online takeway marketplace Just Eat.
According to the research, there are 10,500 people working in takeaways in Northern Ireland.
The analysis was carried out by independent economists, the Centre for Economic and Business Research (CEBR).
The largest regional takeaway economy was London (at £1.4bn) and the smallest was the North East (at £370m).
It also found that takeaways contributed £170m to the Gross Value Added (GVA) of Northern Ireland's economy.
And takeaways contributed £650m to London's GVA.
