A tech firm which specialises in online video is creating 15 well-paid jobs with a new software base in Belfast.

Dundalk-based firm Vennetics is a specialist provider of apps and video on demand services for the mobile and media industries.

It's setting up its Belfast base at Arthur House in the city centre.

The new jobs will boast salaries of around £50,000.

Vennetics chief executive John Hamill said: "Our new Belfast office fits with our strategic aim of widening our customer base and introducing new products to help service the needs of our customers.

"We were really impressed with the skills base in Northern Ireland and have managed to recruit some of the new roles quite quickly." "This expansion into Northern Ireland has already opened new opportunities for us and is providing an impressive platform for longer-term growth in the UK and Europe."

Enterprise Minister Jonathan Bell said Vennetics is a "rapidly expanding company and its decision to establish a new software engineering centre" in Northern Ireland is "welcome news". Invest NI has offered support of £97,500 towards the new jobs.
