A venison firm, a diesel generator maker and a social enterprise from Northern Ireland have been crowned all-island winners at the Ulster Bank Business Achievers Awards.

Meat company Finnebrogue, manufacturer AJ Power and Bryson Charitable Group — known for kerbside collections of recycling — triumphed in their categories at a Mansion House ceremony in Dublin last week.

AJ Power Ltd in Craigavon was named Ireland’s best small business, while Finnebrogue in Downpatrick won in the food and drink category. And Bryson Charitable Group in Belfast was named top social enterprise.

The awards were run in partnership with Invest NI, InterTradeIreland, the Belfast Telegraph and SmallBusinessCan.com.

Richard Donnan, head of Ulster Bank Northern Ireland, said: “We see daily the hard-work and commitment to success among local businesses, so we are thrilled to recognise and share their accomplishments.”
