Top jewellery brand worn by Naomi Campbell to launch first Belfast store
A luxury silver jewellery and giftware business which boasts supermodel Naomi Campbell as a brand ambassador is launching its first store in Northern Ireland.
Irish firm Newbridge Silverware is opening its flagship store in Belfast next month.
The company has been designing and producing silver giftware and tableware for the last 80 years, and has also branched out into a wide range of jewellery.
It has a number of outlets, including its Newbridge Visitor Centre in the Republic, which showcases jewellery and clothing worn by some of Hollywood's biggest stars.
That includes dresses worn by Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe and Bette Davis.
It is understood the company is now due to open its first Northern Ireland store, at Arthur Street in Belfast city centre.
Fit-out for the business is believed to have started, with the company expected to open towards the end of February.
The new retail brand for Belfast was secured by commercial property firm Murphy Surveyors.
Supermodel Naomi Campbell was unveiled as the face of Newbridge Silverware in 2015 at a press conference in the Merrion Hotel in Dublin.
Ms Campbell will now be one of the faces of the firm for at least the next year.
Oonagh Doyle of Newbridge said she was "looking forward to being in Belfast".
The company sells a host of jewellery, across various different ranges.
That includes contemporary ranges, as worn by Ms Campbell.
And the firm also has a Guinness-inspired collection, which includes rose gold earrings, watches, necklaces, giftware and Christmas decorations.
The company was founded in the 1930s as a cutlery manufacturer.
It has also long been a believer in the power of the brand, having continued to associate itself with celebrities, even during the years of the recent recession.
That includes a partnership with Brian O'Driscoll's wife Amy Huberman, and more recently a deal with Ireland rugby star Rob Kearney.
Newbridge Silverware is the latest brand to set up shop in Northern Ireland's high streets, following a series of big names opening their doors here in 2016.
Those included fashion names such as Stradivarius, a sister company of Zara, and menswear specialist Moss Bros.
