Topaz cuts 13 jobs from Northern Ireland operation
Thirteen jobs are to go at the Northern Ireland operations of Irish energy company Topaz.
Topaz Energy, which has 49 petrol forecourts in Northern Ireland as well as a home heating business, employs 40 people at five depots in the province.
But the company confirmed jobs are to go - and said the cuts were as a result of "centralising of back office and sales functions" in its home heating business.
A spokesman for the company said: "Regrettably the centralisation will result in redundancies that affect 13 people in Northern Ireland and 11 in the Republic of Ireland. Full support will be provided to these employees."
Topaz is owned by Irish businessman Denis O'Brien.
