Trailer hire firm Hireco adds 400 vehicles to fleet in a deal worth £8m
Trailer hire firm Hireco is adding 400 units in a deal with a Co Antrim manufacturer worth around £8m.
The Belfast-based company is adding to its fleet with new vehicles from SDC Trailers - located in Toomebridge.
It comes just a year after Hireco purchased £10m worth of trailers from SDC - bringing its total vehicle count to 5,000 right across the UK.
It employs around 100 staff throughout its UK and Ireland operations.
Hireco director Tony Wan said the new order "indicates major growth" for the firm.
"The major order indicates the confidence we have in the UK's transport and logistics industry with 1,100 new vehicles being added to the fleet last year, and an initial 600 this year," he said.
"We hope to make further announcements in the next few months, as these are exciting times for the business."
The latest deal with SDC comes as it was announced the trailer maker is set to open up a branch in the Middle East.
It's aiming to capitalise on the region's growing appetite for the range of equipment the firm produces.
