Transport firm's £4m fleet deal

Transport and logistics firm Woodside Group has invested over £4m in a new fleet of Volvo trucks.

The deal is the largest order the group has placed with Volvo in the last 10 years and is thought to be the largest single fleet purchase of the last 12 months in Northern Ireland.

The 45 new vehicles will join the group's 200 others, used in its four main companies - Haulage Services, Woodside Motorfreight, Woodside Distribution, and Woodside Haulage.

"We have developed a great relationship with Volvo dealer Dennison Commercials which is based five miles away from the Woodside distribution depot and hub - this makes maintenance much more convenient," said Mark Woodside.

Dennison Commercials, which employs 130 at four plants around Northern Ireland including Ballyclare, Newry, Coleraine and Dungannon, said the vehicles have been delivered with a five-year repair and maintenance package.
