Turnover at law firm climbs 25%
Law firm Carson McDowell has announced a 25% increase in turnover to £13.5m for last year.
Pre-tax profits at the Belfast-based practice also increased by 14% to £6.9m over the 12 months to the end of last April
The firm said the growth was driven by growing confidence in the economy and an increase in the number of corporate deals.
Staff numbers also rose to 150, including 87 lawyers.
The business additionally appointed a new licensing partner to its litigation practice after acquiring Belfast rival McCloskeys Solicitors.
Managing partner Michael Johnston said: "Our lawyers have been involved in several major transactions and legal cases in the past year, with regional, national and international clients relying on our expertise.
"The latest set of figures reflect the marked increase in merger and acquisition activity that took place in the first half of the year, and the firm continues to be instructed to work on some of the largest deals taking place in Northern Ireland."
