A Co Tyrone waste and recycling equipment company has been named one of the fastest-growing small to medium enterprise (SME) exporters in the UK.

CDE Enviro was placed at 16 in the Sunday Times Heathrow SME Export Track 100 for fast-growing export sales - one of two Northern Ireland firms in the chart.

The Cookstown firm has more than doubled its overseas sales in the last two years. It has completed work in Europe, Australia, North America and Latin America.

Overseas customers include US food processor Cargill, which uses CDE waste technology to clean soil at a tomato processing factory in Brazil. It is part of the CDE group, which had sales of £32m in the year to end of December 2014.

Seven Technologies Group, an engineering firm in Lisburn, was at number 43 in yesterday's table.
