Tyrone firm Saturnled has deal to light up Dubai

By Staff Reporter

A Co Tyrone engineering company has created nine new jobs after securing a £1m distribution deal in Dubai for its hi-tech lighting system.

Saturnled in Coalisland produces a system called Easilite, which transforms an existing lighting system into smart lighting.

The system can then be controlled through an iPhone or Android smart device via Bluetooth using a free software app.

Now its system will be sold throughout Dubai after it won a distribution agreement worth over £1.2m.

Invest NI has offered the company £78,000 of assistance towards nine new jobs which the company has created to support its export ambitions.

Ethna McNamee, western regional manager at Invest NI, said: "Saturnled is a great example of a successful, indigenous company who is developing new products and recruiting new staff to meet the increasing export demand for its products and services."

Saturnled chief executive Mark O'Connor said 90% of its products are now sold outside Northern Ireland. He added: "All of this would not have been possible without the support of Invest NI."
