Wind farms launched by Energia

By Staff Reporter

Five wind farms in counties Antrim and Tyrone that have the capacity to power approximately 36,000 homes have been launched by all-island generator Energia.

Longmountain and Glenbuck in Co Antrim, along with Altamuskin, Eshmore and Gortfinbar in Tyrone, will generate 74MWs of renewable energy in total.

Peter Bailie, managing director of Energia Renewables, said: "We are very proud of our achievement in opening these following shortly after we opened the biggest wind farm on the island of Ireland at Meenadreen, Co Donegal in March."

Energia is part of Power NI parent company Viridian.
