Around 2,000 credit union members from 55 countries have taken part in the 2016 World Credit Union Conference at the Belfast Waterfront.

It is estimated that the global event generated around £3.7m for the city's economy.

The World Council of Credit Unions (WOCCU) said it worked with over 60 suppliers - including 20 hotels - to make the most of the event's economic potential.

Last week's conference was one of the first big international gatherings in the newly-extended Waterfront.

Ellvena Graham, chairman of the Belfast Waterfront and Ulster Hall board, said: "The new Belfast Waterfront was built to help the city attract conferences of this magnitude and reaffirm Belfast's position as a leading business tourism destination on the world stage."
