Yell to create another 60 jobs in recruitment drive

By Lindsay Fergus

Up to 60 new jobs are to be created in Belfast by the international business directory Yell.

The firm already employs 100 specialist telesales consultants and managers at its headquarters in the Metro Building at Donegall Square South.

As part of the recruitment drive in Northern Ireland Yell has vacancies for telesales consultants who specialise in giving marketing advice to predominantly small businesses. Yell, which has been based in the capital for five years, employs 700 people in the UK and generated just over £600m in the year to March 2010.

Keith Innes, head of telesales for Yell in the UK, said: "We're supporting our existing SME customers and reaching out to new ones to guide them on the most effective marketing programmes that allow them to reach all their potential customers through a combination of internet, voice and print.

"And now with the exciting addition of a world class website proposition fully optimised and hosted for a low monthly charge, we are expanding our sales force to take this message to even more of the UK's SME population.

"We know from our existing, successful Belfast operation of the high quality, motivation and enthusiasm that is available in the city.

"We're looking for these crucial characteristics for the further expansion of the centre of excellence already in place," he said.

New recruits at the Metro Building will be offered a £26,070 basic salary with on target earnings potential of £34,920.
