From hard rocker to hard seller

Sometimes its hard to get excited about business dinners but sometimes, just sometimes, the guest speaker can add a frisson of intrigue.

Take Bruce Dickinson, a man who sang the lines "Bring me your daughter to the slaughter", for instance.

If ever there was a headline speaker who you would think would be out of place at a black tie business event it is Mr Dickinson but, as with all these things, look a bit deeper and you find that he is in fact something of an entrepreneur.

He wasn't for giving any interviews but the hope was that there would be plenty of chat about on his aviation company or his other firm, which makes sports fencing equipment. If not, we'll run for the hills...
