Trade mission efforts must not be overlooked

After a couple of weeks of getting under the skin of elected representatives and public servants, time to give credit where credit is due.

Pictures arrived at the business desk last week of Enterprise Minister Arlene Foster and Invest NI chief executive Alistair Hamilton at a meeting with the President of Kurdistan during a trade mission to Erbil.

Unfortunately events in Europe and elsewhere meant we didn't get room to publish the pictures but we'd hate to think that the efforts of both were overlooked.

As a publicly-backed organisation, Invest NI gets knocked on a regular basis but these sorts of trade missions are rarely anything other than a success and for that the agency should be commended. It's clear the agency's help is invaluable to indigenous businesses.
