BT is a global provider of communications and IT services, with a significant presence in Northern Ireland. It caters for all segments of the market and offers an extensive and diverse portfolio of services ranging from broadband, gaming and TV for homes, to Cloudbased services, unified communications, security, and IT services for organisations.

BT Northern Ireland has offices across Northern Ireland, and in addition has attracted major inward investment from its parent, BT Group, for two digital care centres of excellence and a global research and development centre.

The company says it is the largest private sector investor in communications in Northern Ireland. The company’s investments include its partnership with the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Investment in the Next Generation Broadband Project and its own direct investment in fibre broadband rollout. The result for Northern Ireland is that 89% of all phone lines in Northern Ireland will be connected to a fibreenabled street cabinet by the end of March 2012.
