The family-owned Henderson Group are the owners of the Spar, Eurospar, Vivo, Vivoxtra and Vivo Essentials franchises in Northern Ireland.

The company has delivered food and grocery products to the convenience retail sector for over 100 years and is now the largest operator of its kind in the country, supplying over 400 stores.

Today, there are more than 300 Spar stores in operation across the province, with 21 new stores joining the Spar brand in 2010.

Last year also saw the opening of the first ever eco Spar store at Lagan Valley Lisburn, integrating several eco-friendly features that are both sustainable and complementary to the environment.

The company also owns and operates 72 convenience and petrol forecourt retail outlets, making it the province’s largest independent fuel site operator.

Henderson Foodservice will be investing £14m in new warehousing and office accommodation on the company’s 23.5 acre site at Hightown Avenue, Mallusk.
