The crisp-making business was founded in 1956 by Thomas Hutchinson and is still owned by the Hutchinson family.
In June 2008, Tayto reorganised its various acquisitions under the name Tayto Group Ltd.
With five manufacturing sites in the UK, Tayto is one of the largest crisp and snack companies in the UK and the largest company in the supermarket own label business.
It owns brands including Tayto, Real, Golden Wonder, Jonathan Crisp, Red Mill and Mr Porky and has also licensed some brands to other businesses.
The company also has a growing business outside of the UK. Products manufactured include standard crisps, hand fried crisps and vegetables, tortillas, pork scratchings and fried snacks.
The company has almost 1,500 full-time and a further 600 seasonal staff.
