Northgate Managed Services is part of the Northgate Information Solutions Group, owned by private equity company Kohlberg Kravis Roberts KKR. It is a leading IT services company providing infrastructure services to both public and private sector organisations and specialist ICT managed services in the education, government and utilities sectors both in Northern Ireland and England.
It has secured a number of new contracts including an ICT and Business Process Outsourcing contract with Viridian, an extension with C2k to provide further ICT services to secondary schools in Northern Ireland and an ICT outsourcing contract with Northern Ireland Water.
In March the company announced a £19.4m investment that it said would create 88 new jobs and safeguard hundreds more. It was also named the 2010 Belfast Telegraph Business of the Year.
