Schrader Electronics is a manufacturer of automotive and industrial electronics.

It is part of engineering giant, Tomkins plc. The company is a world leader in the design and manufacture of remote tyre pressure monitoring systems (TPMS) and has used its expertise in sensing and radio frequency technologies to introduce new products such as its fuel level sensor.

The company’s products are supplied to nearly every major car manufacturer in the world.

Earlier this month it revealed plans to create more than100 jobs in a £29m investment. It is set to grow to meet the demands of European legislation similar to that already in place in the USA, which will require TPMS is in all cars sold in Europe from 2012.

Schrader has a 50% market share in its sector and ships its products to countries including Korea, China and Japan, though most end up in cars sold in the US.
