The Foyle Food Group, headquartered at Campsie in Co Londonderry, is one of
the largest processors and wholesalers of meat products based in Northern
Ireland. It is now wholly owned by the Acheson family.
Now in its fourth decade, the group has 700 employees across its five sites
— Foyle Meats, Omagh Meats, Donegal Meat Processors, Foyle Proteins and
Hilton Meats, Cookstown.
The group processes around 180,000 cattle every year but stopped processing
lambs in 2010. The Foyle Food Group was re-organised in March 2007 so that
it became a wholly owned subsidiary of a new company, Faughan Ltd.
Headcount fell by nearly 50 over the last reporting year while both turnover and pretax profit increased.
