Musgrave Group in NI comprises: (1) Musgrave Retail Partners, which through its operation of the SuperValu, Centra and Mace franchises in NI, provides a full spectrum of support services to 300 independently owned and operated supermarkets in the province – and- (2) Musgrave Wholesale Partners, which supplies independent retail and foodservice outlets through its Marketplace and Holmes outlets, as well as supporting the Day to Day retail fascia.

The 2008 reported loss is as a result of substantial exceptional re-structuring costs in the year, primarily linked to the acquisition of J&J Haslett’s, with the Retail Partners business generating underlying profit of over £4.5m in the year.

Musgrave’s Northern Ireland operation is part of a larger group that supports more than 3,400 stores in the UK & Ireland with a collective retail turnover of almost £6billion, and with Group profit in excess of £60m in 2008.
