Montupet is a French manufacturer for the automotive sector, with manufacturing plants in France, Spain, Mexico, Bulgaria, and Northern Ireland.

It makes cast aluminium components, such as cylinder heads, wheels and structural parts. Last year saw the 20th anniversary of Montupet operating in Northern Ireland. The Plant currently supplies machined cylinder heads to Ford & PSA (Peugeot Citroen), in the UK and France.

During the first half of 2009 the plant was hit by the drop in industry demand, resulting in 35 redundancies and a reduced production schedule coupled with voluntary salary reduction. However, demand recovered significantly in the second half of the year due to the small, energy efficient engine sizes served by the plant.

The factory it has been selected for three new engine programmes for components to be delivered to Ford and also a PSA plant in France. This will result in additional equipment investment and employment, increasing turnover to a level of £75m.
