Lagan Group Limited, the construction materials business owned by Kevin Lagan, has extensive operations throughout Ireland, the UK, and NW Europe. The business comprises several key segments including quarrying, bitumen, surfacing, civil engineering, waste management, cement, and clay products. Despite the impact of the prolonged economic downturn on many of its main markets, the business has substantially increased both turnover and profitability, whilst continuing to generate strong operating cashflow. The December 2012 profit before tax of £3.7m is after taking into account one-off restructuring costs in its clay division of circa £1.2m.

In addition, Kevin Lagan also owns Lagan Homes, which has house-building operations in Northern Ireland and SE England, and the iconic Welsh Slate roofing business in North Wales. He also owns the controlling interest in Lagan Asphalt Group Limited, one of the largest quarrying, bitumen and surfacing operations in the Republic of Ireland.
