The Japanese-owned and US stock market-listed company is a worldwide manufacturer and supplier of passive electronic components and connectors.

It serves a broad range of markets including: computer, telecommunications infrastructure, cellular, industrial, automotive, consumer, military and medical sectors.

AVX’s Coleraine operations said AVX’s European Operations experienced a very strong market demand for its products in the second half of 2010 after a weaker start to the year.

Significant growth was seen in all its core products, from all the major sectors it services, specifically aerospace, satellite, automotive and instrumentation.

AVX has continued to ramp-up production and as of this quarter demand remains strong for its core products which are used in a wide variety of markets including aerospace; satellite; instrumentation; defence and automotive.
