Belfast-based Four Seasons Health Care is one of the largest providers of care services in the UK with more than 440 homes and facilities.
In Northern Ireland, Four Seasons operates approximately 70 facilities while it also has two homes in the Isle of Man. The portfolio of homes in the Northern Ireland region includes specialist intermediate care facilities adjacent to acute hospitals in Belfast and Lisburn, specialist provision for people with learning disabilities, mental health problems and homes for people with dementia.
Four Seasons works closely with health and social care trusts in Northern Ireland to provide services that support the policy of caring for people in their own homes, in their own communities, rather than in hospitals or institutional settings.
During 2009 Four Seasons plans to open a new £4.5m nursing care home at Rush Hall outside Limavady, providing accommodation for 66 residents. The development replaces an old building and creates much needed employment in an area which has witnessed significant job losses recently. The new home provides high quality accommodation and services for older people.
The managing director of Four Seasons is Jim McCall, who held senior posts with health trusts before joining the company in May 2008.
Four Seasons group was established in the late 1980’s and has expanded into a global operator through both acquisitions and the construction of its own facilities. Under the aegis of Four Seasons Health Care is the Huntercombe Group. This is a specialist services division which operates homes and hospitals for people with neuro-disability, brain injury and alcohol related brain injury.
