Ards Holdings is the parent company for the well established construction company Gilbert-Ash, and the financial results are heavily influenced by the trading performance of the subsidiary.

Among the company’s high-profile past contracts were the Waterfront Hall, the Odyssey complex, Victoria Square shopping centre, the regeneration of the Ulster Hospital and the Lyric Theatre.

It also operates outside Northern Ireland, and has satellite offices in Peterborough and Edinburgh.

The firm recently won the contracts for the New Giant’s Causeway Visitors Centre in Northern Ireland and also a new master film storage centre near Birmingham for the British Film Institute.

An associated company, Gilbert-Ash Fitout Limited, is responsible for smaller building projects including maintenance, refurbishment and shopfitting.

It is currently carrying out numerous contracts in Europe, Asia and as far afield as Australia.
