Top executives set for investment conference

The number of senior US executives set to attend a major investment conference in Belfast next month has exceeded all expectations.

The power-sharing Executive had hoped to attract more than 30 top executives to the gathering aimed at attracting investment to Northern Ireland.

However, officials from more than 70 corporations have already expressed an intention to attend, 40 of whom will be visiting Ulster for the first time.

British Prime Minister Gordon Brown and Taoiseach-in-waiting Brian Cowen - who takes over from Bertie Ahern the day before the conference opens on May 7th - will both be there on the second day.
