Elon Musk launches new Tesla Model 3 electric car
Billionaire Elon Musk has launched the production version of the Tesla Model 3 electric car at the firm's factory in California.
The new car - a rival to the likes of the BMW i3 and Nissan Leaf - will have a range of up to 310 miles, according to the company.
It joins the more expensive Model S executive saloon and the Model X SUV.
The Model 3 was launched to an audience of Tesla employees and customers at a special event last week.
The standard car officially has a range of 220 miles. It will do 0-60mph in 5.6 seconds and boasts a top speed of 130mph.
UK prices for the entry-level car are likely to be around £30,000.
Most deliveries will be in 2018. There is a waiting list of 400,000 already.
