Levorg GT Races Ahead

Subaru's Levorg GT is the spiritual successor of the Legacy tourer, the much loved and long-legged former flagship estate of the Japanese manufacturer's range. Levorg is an entirely new model developing more power from a smaller, meaner turbocharged flat-four engine. Subaru have consistently outsold Volkswagen Audi and BMW combined in the American market and with Levorg have maintained faith in the Brand's unique design DNA - symmetrical All Wheel drive linked to a lowslung Boxer power plant.

Sitting just below the highly capable Outback estate in their range, all-new Levorg GT is the latest example of Subaru's acclaimed engineering at its finest. The sleek, lowslung, five door estate body swallows five adults and their luggage with ease. The cavernous leather-trimmed interior and high-end feel cabin bristles with all imaginable driver and safety aids as standard that befits a cutting-edge Grand Tourer with a 5 star NCAP safety rating.

Blind spot detection alerts the driver to traffic approaching from right-angles when reversing, during overtakes, or lane sway. Subaru's highly respected Lineartronic gearbox is a substantial standard feature on Levorg. It's stepless, economical, highly reliable and delightful to drive. It purrs along country lanes, and effortlessly whizzes the Levorg at pace when chasing deadlines. There is no manual option - there is no call for spurious driver effort without additional gain. Think of this as a high-end camera - best left on automatic for perfect pictures.

Levorg has already proven itself in Subaru's maiden year in the hotly contested British Touring Cars Championship race series. Team lead driver is Co Down's two time BTCC champion Colin Turkington (with three Levorg wins under his belt). Subaru team mate Jason Plato notched up his first Levorg win at the most recent Round. Racing defines and refines the breed, and is a confident statement by Subaru of the Brand's reliability and competitiveness.

Handling is impeccable. Levorg holds its line in all conditions. Deep puddles are of more concern on Northern Ireland's roads than ice and snow, and the Subaru simply shrugs off standing water where the competition search for traction. Levorg instills confidence, with no baffling switches or levers to detract the serious driver.

Levorg is quiet and sophisticated, responsive and satisfying. Worldwide it is highly sought after, and typically Northern Ireland customers will wait 4 to 6 weeks for their colour of choice from the dealers here (Eastwood Motors Lisburn, Western Cars Enniskillen and Gormley Motors Dungannon). Buyers before the end of September get three years free servicing which combined with five years warranty is great peace of mind. And buyers will also enjoy the tremendously strong Subaru residual values that come with cars in demand.

If you like understated elegance on the exterior, yet may occasionally release your inner wolf from its sheep's clothing, check this fine car out. See more at or simply call in to your local specialists. Be sure to tell them the Telegraph sent you - if you drive one you'll buy one. That is after all what defines every Subaru!
