New Subaru Impreza to be presented at Frankfurt Motor Show
There's great news for Subaru Impreza fans - the new model will be officially presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.
Subaru has confirmed the car will be made in European spec.
A new model has been on sale in the US for some time now, but only in American specification.
Subaru bosses have been a bit coy over a European launch until now.
Subaru's trademark boxer engines will continue, but in modified form.
The good news is that permanent four-wheel drive remains as standard on all models.
The new car, a five-door hatchback, will have a 25mm longer wheelbase, with additional body rigidity and a 5mm lower centre of gravity.
These developments, combined, should improve handling and all-round driveability. There is also much change to the cabin, with a new fascia and two screens in the centre of the dashboard - one for navigation and one for phone connectivity.
All models have Android Auto and Apple CarPlay capabilities.
On top of all that, there is an Eyesight Driver Assist system that uses cameras to monitor the road for hazards.
