Young people from the Braniel area have transformed a wall once covered in graffiti by turning it into a mural on the story of Belfast.

The work took place at the back of the Braniel Surgery building in the Braniel Estate and was completed through Dreamscheme, an initiative encouraging young people to carry out community projects.

Speaking to The CT, Dreamscheme project coordinator Billy McClean said: “the scheme provides positive activities, such as the mural painting, for young people to learn skills, develop relationships, gain respect and improve the community they live in.”

Dr Peter Ryan of the Braniel Surgery praised the Dreamscheme mural as “positive”.
