Parades drink appeal
Wednesday, 27 June 2007
An appeal has been made for people to drink responsibly when attending parades over the coming weeks.
The Orange Order, Royal Black Institution, Independent Loyal Orange Institution, Royal Arch Purple Order, Apprentice Boys of Derry, Ulster Bands' Association and 36th Regimental Bands' Association made the joint appeal.
The loyal orders and bands' associations said they wanted to promote “inclusive” parades for the enjoyment of all.
A statement said: “Alcohol misuse and associated misbehaviour is discouraging some families from attending and enjoying our parades.”
