Beverly Hills has arrived in Belfast, via Galway and Jordanstown.
You don't need to go to LA to see where the A-list hang out, as a gorgeous dress shop of the same name opened recently on Belfast's Bloomfield Avenue.
Jordanstown based businesswoman, Sheila Fallon-Kennedy, opened the boutique earlier this summer to provide some Hollywood style glamour to local ladies.
And she has seen business take off faster than a silver screen starlet's career. Friendly and down-to-earth, Sheila is the ideal woman to seek fashion advice from.
Her sister runs a Beverly Hills boutique in Galway, so Sheila was able to use the same suppliers when she decided to launch her own branch of what is now a thriving family concern.
The boutique stocks occasion wear, and young mum Sheila has found that women are coming to her whenever they need a stunning gown for balls, formals, days at the races, weddings and holidays.
“I've had a lot of interest from woman going on cruises, where you're usually expected to dress up for evening meals.
“In fact I've started a book, listing who is wearing what, when groups of friends travel together so women can be sure they'll not turn up wearing the same dress as the other women in their group.
“I also keep details of dresses for girls going to formals too, and I've already had mums buying their daughters dresses for formals taking place in October.”
Dresses in Beverly Hills range from £140 to around £400 and come in every colour, shape and size, in everything from slinky satin to soft silk.
There are long, Oscar night worthy evening dresses and cute and flirty prom style frocks, in sizes ranging from 4-24.
There are designer dresses from labels such as Jovani, Marc Bauwer, Faviana, Aftershock and Cirque.
And one of Coleen McLoughlin's favourite designers, Marchesa, is also represented. (Mrs Rooney chose a Marchesa wedding dress for her big day.)
Sheila readily admits to loving her job and enjoying the day to day task of helping women find the perfect dress for a special occasion.
“I love finding out about people and about the special occasions they are going to.
“It's a happy profession to be in, people are excited about dressing up and going to special events.”
Now happily settled in Northern Ireland, Sheila is delighted to be part of the Belfast style scene, but still enjoys jetting off to London, Paris and New York to source her dresses.
“Local ladies are more aware than ever before of the balance between style and value, so I offer styles to suit all pockets.
“Fashion isn’t just about spending a fortune, it's about getting something that suits you, whether you're a teenager off to your first formal or a plus-size lady with a fabulous party to go to.”
