Wine of the Week
Reggiano Rosso 2007
Wednesday, 1 October 2008
A lively young red, packed with vibrant soft fruit flavours. Look out for bright purple hits of colour, and an appealing aroma of cranberry and red cherry.
Serve at room temperature, or lightly chilled to bring out the refreshing fruitiness.
This wine, priced £3.99, is a first — not only for Marks & Spencer, but for Italian wine in general. Reggiano Rosso is a newly created wine appellation, and this is the first wine from it to appear in the UK.
It has been made by Francesco Lombardini, who has lived all his life in the area of Reggio Emilia, and who pioneered the creation of this soft, fruity red made from local grape varieties.
