Ollie needs a new home

Ollie needs a new home

This week at the Mallusk-based 7th Heaven Animal Rescue Trust, a cat and a dog are in search of a new owner.

The first pet seeking a loving home is Moose, a very handsome and very big grey and white male cat.

Trustee and treasurer Stephen McMurray said: “Due to a change in the owner's circumstances he had to come to us to be re-homed.

“Unfortunately, when he first came in, he was very overweight. As this can lead to diabetes, heart problems and liver damage, the first thing we did was put him on a diet.

“Now he is a fine specimen of a cat but is a little bit shy. All he needs is a bit of affection and he will be a perfect pet.”

Also hoping for a new home is Ollie, a three-month-old collie cross.

Mr McMurray said: “He is a stunning-looking chap with different coloured eyes and a brown and white coat.

“He is quite big and very energetic so he would need someone who is fit with lots of energy to take him out for walks.

“As with all dogs, the ideal home would have someone there for most of the time in the initial stages to keep Ollie company so he doesn't get bored.”

Anyone interested in these pets can contact the trust on 94432229 or check out the website on www.7thheaven.org.uk.

Gritty, moving and heroic...Billy plays captured life here

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times ... Sunday's 30th anniversary screening of the seminal Too Late to Talk to Billy was riveting viewing. But it wasn't nostalgic viewing.

Surprise, surprise. Peter Robinson has been to his first gaelic match, Martin McGuinness is heading for Windsor Park and the Ulster Unionists have scored another own goal.

Why trying to go on a diet is never really a piece of cake

Some people make New Year’s resolutions, I make lists. Every new year I determine to keep track of everything I spend and everything I eat and drink.

Scary movie? Their jaws were sore from laughing

Teenage boys love horror films and I have two who are in charge of the remote control in our house, so naturally there’s gore-a-plenty on the box most weekends. However, until recently one film was banned.
