This year’s Christmas lights in Bangor are to be switched on this coming Saturday.

A fantastic fireworks display will precede the lights switch-on, with the family occasion beginning at 5.30pm. Mayor of North Down Leslie Cree will turn on the lights.

Santa is also set to arrive in Main Street by horse and carriage on the same day. He will then officially open his Winter Wonderland Grotto at The Flagship Centre, where he can be found throughout the festive season.

The Tourist Information Centre in Bangor is also preparing for Christmas. Visitors can drop in and find a treasure trove of stocking fillers, hand crafted cards, candles, a wide range of jewellery, novelty items and a variety of arts and crafts.

For further information on activities and events in the borough contact Bangor Tourist Information Centre on 9127 0069 or visit www.northdowntourism.com.
