Brightside of the Ballymullan Road

A man with a van may soon be required for Van the Man — now the Crawfordsburn house belonging to the critically acclaimed songwriter has been taken off a local estate agent’s website.

Van Morrison’s detached three bedroom house on the Ballymullan Road was put on the market through Templeton Robinson’s estate agents for a modest £425,000 — but was subsequently taken off their website on Tuesday, August 10 after less than a week.

For only a short time, music fans had the opportunity of a glimpse at the six-time Grammy award winner’s home — in one of the website’s marketing publicity photographs, Van’s guitar case was visible sitting beside the bricked fireplace that also had a couple of personal pictures on its mantlepiece.

Marketed as one of the lowest priced properties on the road, the large and gated property was advertised as requiring updating, and that it could be |further enhanced by extending or replacing it with another dwelling.

A spokesperson from Templeton Robinson estate agents was unavailable for comment on the progress of the sale — and if indeed someone had, in less than a week, made an offer.
