Musical cheer for Bangor

Bangor Castle Leisure Centre is to build on the worldwide success of the High School Musical films by introducing new cheerleading classes to the centre.

Programme development officer Jill Constable said cheerleading, which incorporates many different elements including jumps, dance, cheers and chants, would be a “novel way” of introducing this “exciting” exercise for local people.

“We are very fortunate to have a qualified cheerleading coach at Bangor Castle Leisure Centre and are excited at the prospect of creating a cheerleading squad,” Ms Constable said.

The new cheerleading course will begin on Saturday, February 21, at 3pm. Young people aged 8-16 years are invited to register as soon as possible by contacting Bangor Castle Leisure Centre on (028) 9127 0271, or email jill.constable@northdown.gov.uk.
