NIE fund adds power to Camphill promotion

Fundraising for the Camphill Communities received a welcome boost when the NIE Staff and Pensioners Charity Fund stepped in with a donation recently.

The organisation, which supports people with a learning disability, will use the money to launch a new brochure and banners which will help promote Camphill Communities to potential beneficiaries, funders and friends across Northern Ireland.

There are four Camphill Communities here, including the two at Holywood and Craigavon, which offer a person-centred approach to training, work and therapies.

Alexis Totten, secretary of the fund, said: “Having had the chance to visit the Camphill Community in Holywood, it’s easy to see why the charity wants more people to know about them.

“As well as funding specific projects, the NIE Staff and Pensioners Fund specialises in providing small pots of money to help local charities promote themselves or their work.

“We hope that these leaflets and banner stands will bring in well deserved support for the Camphill Communities.”

Maria Kinney, fundraising officer for Camphill Communities Trust (NI), said: “We are indebted to everyone at NIE Staff and Pensioners Fund for providing this vital funding which has enabled us to reach out to new audiences across Northern Ireland.”
