Scrabo moves welcomed

Strangford DUP MLA Simon Hamilton has welcomed confirmation that the Northern Ireland Housing Executive is seeking planning approval to remove green areas at Lismara Place in the Scrabo estate and replace them with wider roads and additional car parking space.

Mr Hamilton praised the Scrabo Residents Association for their persistent efforts to sort out problems with parking at cul-de-sacs like Lismara Place.

“Residents have been worried about access for emergency vehicles and a problem that regularly arises is that because of cars being parked in the cul-de-sacs, bin lorries cannot get up the street to do their weekly lift,” he added.
