Reflections on Bangor and Titanic

MODEL turned art curator Katie Larmour has launched the latest exhibition by local artists Graham Catney and Linda Murray at Bangor's Marine Court Hotel.

'Reflections' includes familiar sights by Linda such as Pickie and the old Bangor bandstand and is on view in the hotel's dinning room throughout August.

They met when Graham (75), a former Customs & Excise interrogator, took an art course at the South Eastern Regional College after his wife sadly died. Linda was the lecturer who encouraged Graham to progress to art college. They have exhibited together successfully since.

Katie Larmour met Graham when they were both students at the University of Ulster. "His enthusiasm is infectious and I'm one of his biggest fans. I have two of his huge Titanic paintings up in the house," she said.

Graham said: "My favourite piece in this exhibition is one of the Titanic underwater at rest, it's a multicoloured screen print featuring the titanic and various marine life, it's a sad picture and yet it's bright and emotic."
