Employee assaulted by burglar

Detectives in south Belfast are appealing for information following the report of a robbery at commercial premises in the Fountain Street area in the early hours of Saturday December 10.



It was reported at around 4.30am that a staff member on the premises was assaulted after a man had gained entry.

The premises were ransacked and a sum of money taken.

The staff member was taken to hospital to be treated for his injuries which are not thought to be life threatening.

Police are also making an appeal for witnesses to come forward after a till was snatched.

On Friday November 11 at around 3.30pm, it was reported that two men made off with an amount of cash after they took a cash till from a supermarket.

Both males are described as being about 16 or 17 years old.

The first male is described as being around 5'6” - 5'7” of slim build with short dark hair wearing a black raincoat with a grey hood and black tracksuit bottoms.

The second male is described as being around 5'8”, of slim build with short shaved light coloured hair wearing a black raincoat with a blue lined hood over a green and white striped t-shirt and black tracksuit bottoms.

Police are appealing for any witnesses of either incident to contact them on 0845 600 8000.
